About us
Who we are
Violence against women happens more than you think. It’s mostly committed by men. We won’t stand for it.
White Ribbon Campaign UK is part of a global movement to put a stop to male violence against women and girls. We address men directly – so they understand the scale of the problem, and take action to end men’s violence against women. We want men to become part of the solution, alongside women.
We work in partnership with organisations across the country to help us raise awareness and end male violence against women and girls - including sports bodies, the music industry, private companies, unions, local authorities, schools, colleges and universities.
We are building a national network of Campaign Ambassadors to stand up and speak out against violence against women and girls. These men may be business leaders, trade unionists, politicians, civil servants, community/third sector leaders, faith leaders, artists/musicians, sportsmen, teachers, celebrities etc. Anyone who can exert real influence to help the Campaign achieve its objectives.
The importance of our work is gaining increasing recognition. As Vicki Paddison, Hull Strategic Domestic Violence Services Manager, confirms, "responding to men's violence after it has taken place is not enough on its own. Working with the White Ribbon Campaign has enabled us to be much more effective in changing men's attitudes and behaviour."
