Who we are

Weston General Hospital is part of Weston Area Health NHS Trust - the smallest acute Trust in England. We're a small, local hospital known for our caring approach to our patients and our friendly staff. 

Serving the residents of Weston-super-Mare and North Somerset the hospital has around 250 beds. Among other services we offer a 24 hour Emergency Department, midwife-led maternity unit, Oncology Day Unit, Orthopedic Department and we have recently refurbished our Outpatients and operating theatres. 

Despite our size, we pride ourselves in being a centre of innovation and have received various national accolades such as pressure ulcer prevention work, caring for Ebola patients in Sierra Leone, housekeeping and hospital food. Our Radiology department (X-Ray) are one of a select few across the country who've received Imaging Service Accreditation Scheme from the Royal College of Radiologists.
