About us
Who we are
Wales Environment Link (WEL) is a dynamic network of diverse environmental non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
As an umbrella body, WEL promotes and represents the shared interests of its member organisations, which include some of the most dynamic, innovative and practical NGOs in Wales. WEL’s role is to support the many exciting and varied environmental organisations working in Wales to help them achieve their collective aims. WEL does this by facilitating collaborative working amongst its members and with like-minded partner organisations; and by presenting their joint positions on issues to the Welsh Government and key decision makers in Wales.
Our culture and values
WEL is a small, flexible organisation that values collaboration, trust and working together with our partners for long-term, sustainable solutions to environmental challenges. We value the well-being of our staff and members, and pride ourselves on being an approachable and friendly team. Staff are expected to carry out their job responsibilities in an environmentally aware manner and are encouraged to use active travel, public transport or lift share for business journeys.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
WEL is an inclusive, anti-racist organisation. We want to work with diverse people and communities to deliver our vision of a thriving Welsh environment for future generations. To achieve this, we encourage all staff to play their part in making the network a supportive, friendly and flexible place to work. We also encourage all staff to participate in delivering our Diversity Action Plan.
