About us
Who we are
Since 1997, the Urban Partnership Groups’ mission is to improve the health, wealth, and well-being of residents of the Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham and build community involvement in economic, social and environmental regeneration.
UPG was formed through a European Social Fund programme known as Urban which was set up to help residents on the Edward Woods and White City estates. In 2008 it merged with the Blythe Neighbourhood Council which ran the Masbro Centre extending its area of benefit to Hammersmith & Fulham and the surrounding areas. Over the years UPG has grown from strength to strength and now operates services and activities from six centres in the borough.
These activities include running Children’s Centres, family outreach provision, borough-wide parenting classes, nursery provision and crèche services, sports and leisure facilities, an older people service, volunteering, adult education classes, employment support service, art and pottery workshops, as well as managing space for the wider community to use. UPG see approximately 4,500 service users a week.
Overseen by a Board of Trustees and a strong management team, UPG has 17 full-time paid staff, 32 part-time paid staff and approximately 100 unpaid part-time volunteers.
