About us

Who we are

Although we share the same vision and values, each of our academies have their own identity which defines them within their local community.  The Trust is strongly committed to valuing the uniqueness of each school and retaining governance at local level to ensure the schools reflect the community in which they serve, with trustees and officers sharing this strongly held view.

ONE ENTITY, ONE ORGANISATION, ONE TRUST

CELEBRATING THE UNIQUE CONTEXT OF EACH OF OUR COMMUNITIES

The Trust works closely with colleagues from the University to improve educational outcomes for children and young people and shares the belief that education has the power to transform society.  With our roots firmly in higher education, teacher education and evidence-based practice, through our University sponsor we are working to ensure that all of our staff: professional services, teachers and leaders have a career-long support and development programme that allows them to:

  • Create the best educational environment for all of our children
  • Benefit from career pathway training packages and support
  • Use research and evidence to identify how to improve education for all our children
  • Collaborate with other staff in similar roles to improve the Trust and gain meaningful support
  • Have time and space to reflect on themselves as a learner and take control of their development
  • Shape the future direction of the Trust through their areas of interest and expertise
  • Benefit from the extensive Educational Development Team strands
  • Join like-minded colleagues across the Trust to celebrate our children, our staff and our communities.

Our culture and values

Guiding what we do

The Vision of the University of Chichester Academy Trust is for all young people to be inspired by an excellent education that raises their aspirations and enriches their lives.

Our Shared values are:

  • Aspirational
  • Evidence Based
  • Inclusive and Diverse

  • People and Equality focused
  • Sustainable

Our aims are to:

  • Promote high aspirations and success for all

  • Ensure progressive and sustained improvement in standards of education and pupils’ rates of progress

  • Create a creative, dynamic, engaging and relevant curriculum delivered by high quality staff, in order to deliver excellent outcomes for all children

  • Develop sustainable learning environments which engage and inspire pupils’ learning and development

  • Value and ensure the continual professional learning and wellbeing of all staff

  • Support and build leadership and management capacity within and across our academies

  • Develop a local learning community where parents and carers are valued and encouraged to engage

  • Embrace opportunities presented by the new educational landscape in a way that is coherent with our strategic direction

  • Generate levels of surplus, sufficient to secure sustainability and create funds to support  investment in our academies and the delivery of our vision

  • Achieve a shared sense of mission and belonging across our family of academies, so that the vision is owned by the whole Trust and academies collaborate to share best practice and support each other

The University of Chichester Academy Trust seeks to add powerful momentum to the progress of our family of academies through a shared aspirational vision and inclusive ethos. People matter to us and we believe that student progress and the development of outstanding teachers should be at the heart of our work. Our approach is that all schools are different and can take different routes on their journey to excellence.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

As a Trust that supports the principle that all our academies are unique, it should not be surprising to hear that we believe that it is the diversity of individuals that enriches who we are and what we can achieve.

Equality of Opportunity

We recognise that some individuals find it harder to secure a job due to others’ prejudices and discrimination. We select all candidates for interview based on the demonstration of knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience.

We are committed to the fair treatment of existing and potential staff regardless of a person’s age, disability, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation or offending background.
