About us
Who we are
Located in Stoke-on-Trent, Middleport Pottery – the last remaining working Victorian pottery factory – is a site that has changed very little since it was built in 1888
Middleport Pottery is a Grade II* listed building and contains one of the few remaining bottle ovens in existence. As a site built 130 years ago for the production of ceramics, and still producing ware to this day, many of our visitors connect to the factory through their love of ceramics or industrial heritage.
The site opened to the public in 2014 following a £9 million restoration and now caters for families, heritage enthusiasts and pottery lovers through its diverse events and activities programme.
Daily factory and heritage tours are available for individuals, groups and educational visits.
The site is owned and operated by the United Kingdom Historic Building Preservation Trust
