Tusome Africa

Who we are

Tusome Africa (TA) is an education charity working in some of the poorest communities in Uganda, with a plan to expand practices beyond Uganda in due course. Our vision is to “eliminate illiteracy” and our Mission is to “place every boy or girl at the forefront of development by increasing their opportunity to access equitable and inclusive quality.”

At TA, we believe education has the power to transform lives. We believe that every boy and girl, no matter who they are, their circumstances, religious affiliation, tribe, nationality, what they have done or what they have been through, deserve a quality education. We will ensure their education needs are met and their voices are heard. We fight for the most vulnerable children to realise their full potential in life through access to a quality education.

The team is made up of friendly, talented people from diverse backgrounds who are dedicated to this purpose with all their heart. As a new venture we welcome new ideas, creativity, ambition and drive. We work with the most amazing group of staff and volunteers and strive to provide the best for our volunteers and to support volunteers on their own professional or personal journey with us.
