About us
Who we are
True Cadence CIC is a multi-award-winning music business social enterprise based in East London. We provide age-relatable structured learning, support, mentoring and tailored artistic development to 8-25-year-olds from under-resourced communities. Our beneficiaries build skills, grow in confidence, and lessen risk-taking behaviours while realising their potential and becoming music ‘industry-ready’.
Our achievements so far would not be possible without our dedicated volunteers and employees who provide their time and bring a multitude of skills and knowledge. In return, we offer learning and development opportunities, valuable insight into community project management and the opportunity to grow your network and meet new people.
Our culture and values
M.U.S.I.C is embedded in our values and ethos.
- Motivation – We believe in motivating and uplifting others by sharing our own success and helping them overcome setbacks and fear through strength and courage. It’s time for young people to stop asking for permission and start achieving greatness.
- Uniqueness – We understand the power of confidence and use our unique experiences and perspectives to inspire and empower others to follow their dreams.
- Self-expression – We’ve all experienced the limitations of conformity and destructive patterns of behaviour. By embracing self-expression as a therapeutic tool, we empower ourselves and each other to connect, navigate, and grow in meaningful ways.
- Inclusivity – Our inclusivity is unwavering, and we not only recognise the value of diversity but embrace it with open arms. We believe that everyone deserves to have the right opportunities to succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances. We reject the idea of privileges based on power and dominance and instead strive to create a level playing field for all, in everything we do.
- Community – Music is a universal language that brings us together as a community. We believe in finding strength in others and that by coming together, we can achieve impact on a much larger scale.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
True Cadence CIC is committed to creating a fair, inclusive and respectful working environment where everyone is treated with dignity and has equal opportunity to thrive. We actively oppose discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religion, age, socio-economic background or any other protected characteristic.
Our workforce reflects the communities we serve, and we prioritise inclusive recruitment practices, fair pay, accessible opportunities and supportive working arrangements. We aim to remove barriers that prevent people from participating fully, particularly those from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds.
We promote a culture of respect, learning and accountability, with clear safeguarding and reporting procedures in place to address concerns. Staff, freelancers and volunteers are expected to uphold our values of inclusion, empathy and integrity in all aspects of their work.
As a community-rooted organisation working with young people, we are committed to ongoing reflection and improvement to ensure our practices remain equitable, culturally responsive and accessible to all.
