Who we are

Trafford Carers Centre is a non-profit organisation that supports unpaid carers looking after someone who lives in the Trafford area.  The majority of our services are free, and everything you tell us will be kept in confidence.

Trafford Carers Centre is an independent registered Charity (1102075) that supports unpaid carers looking after someone who lives in the Trafford area. Established in 1996, and as a Network Partner of Carers Trust, we have been offering support to carers for 20 years!

There are an estimated 24,000 people in Trafford supporting someone living with an illness or disability or a mental health need. This is often done out of love or friendship and they do not get paid.

At the Centre we aim to support both young and adult carers to recognise their own needs, have their voices heard, help with their physical and mental wellbeing and ensure they are fully understood, valued and supported in their caring role.

All caring journeys are different, at the Centre we tailor our help and support to each person’s unique situation.  All of our services are free of charge or subsidised.

We offer the following services:

• A Carers Helpline offering information, support and advice
• A statutory carers assessments
• Carers Health Checks, looking at carers’ needs and supporting them to look after their own health
• Funding for carers, to enable them to take a break
• A quarterly newsletter, keeping carers up-to-date with local news and events
• Relaxation therapies and a free counselling service
• Carers clubs, forums and training sessions
• Volunteering opportunities including a befriending service
• An emergency card service, to give carers peace of mind
• A dedicated young carers project
• Digital inclusion project

At the Centre we aim to support carers in recognising their own needs, help them achieve their aspirations and ensure they are fully understood, valued and supported in their chosen caring role.
