Who we are

Toilet Twinning is an innovative fundraising campaign that raises funds for the global water and sanitation programme of the international relief and development NGO Tearfund. By encouraging supporters across the UK to twin their loo, we raise vital funds that enable people living in poorer communities to have clean water, a decent toilet, and to learn about hygiene.

Over the last 12 months, the Twinning campaign has expanded rapidly.

In March 2020, Tap Twinning was launched to raise funds for an urgent hygiene awareness campaign across 40 countries to help poorer communities learn how to protect themselves against coronavirus. Then, in April 2021, Fridge Twinning was launched as an emergency appeal to tackle a growing global hunger crisis that is being created as a result of the economic impact of Covid-19. Currently, 40 million people are experience extreme hunger, and need emergency food parcels, food vouchers, and livelihoods support, and Fridge Twinning is raising funds for a food programme in 23 countries.

As a further Twinning campaign, Toilet Twinning has also launched Bin Twinning – to raise funds for brand-new social enterprises that are helping communities to collect and recycle rubbish for the first time ever. 

Across the Twinning family of toilets, taps, bins and fridges, lives are being saved and transformed every day. Joining this team is an opportunity to increase even further the impact we can have in some of the poorest places on the planet.
