About us
Who we are
TIGER (Teaching Individuals Gender Equality & Respect) is a Bristol based not-for-profit co-operative working for young people by delivering a comprehensive programme of workshops that address gender based barriers to well being, aspirations and well-rounded futures within school and beyond. We prioritise tackling a number of key issues, including: Sexist bullying and sexual harassment within the school environment; educational attainment and student participation in traditionally gender biased subjects; and the increasing numbers of predominantly disadvantaged boys being educated within pupil referral units. We believe that a whole-school approach to workshops and training - involving students, teachers, support staff and parents - ensures the biggest impact in creating sustainable change in the school culture. We also work with youth organisations and the local community, develop policies and resources with schools, and organise community events that bring community leaders, young people and the public together. We want to ensure that everyone feels informed and confident enough to tackle gender inequality.
