About us
Who we are
Tibbs Dementia Foundation is a grassroots charity provides a wide range of quality, accesible and vibrant services to support people to continue to live as fully as possible with a diagnosis of dementia.
We are a community including specialists with a wealth of experience and supported by a strong and dedicated team of over 70 volunteers, to provide quality, vibrant and safe services and activities. We were proud to receive the Queen's Award for Voluntary Services in 2018, a testimony to the commitment and hard work of our entire team.
Our services support people to live as fully as possible and we have a strong wellbeing focus. We encourage people to remain physically fit through our sporting activities such as football, swimming, yoga as well as 'cognitively stimulated' keeping the mind sharp.
We also work to theraputic principles through our suite of music therapy actvities 'Music 4 Memory' and various of our focused groups.
Community and connection is key and a great deal of our work encourages this through a wide range of social activities.
People talk about our community as a 'lifestyle' and our welcoming inclusive ethos ' helps me keep being me'.
We believe we all have something to bring and if we all fully use our assets we can work together to help each other live everyday as fully and positively as possible.
