About us
Who we are
Camp Mohawk is a day centre for children and young people with special needs and their families. Set in 5 acres of beautiful woodland near the village of Wargrave, Berkshire, we provide year round services to families from Berkshire and surrounding counties. A small but dedicated team of permanent staff are supported by a wider bank of sessional workers and volunteers, allowing us to deliver services to over 700 families on a minimum of 5 days a week. Facilities on site include adventure playgrounds, sensory garden, woodland explore areas, outdoor games and other play features, soft play and sensory rooms, art and music rooms, lounges and fully accessible bathroom / changing facilities. The children and young people we support have a diverse range of needs including autistic spectrum disorders and other neurodiversities, genetic and developmental conditions, physical disabilities and mental health conditions. We run sessions for whole families, providing support for parents and siblings as well as the young people with special needs. We also run Short Breaks respite services for young people with High Functioning Autism, and have regular visits for facility use from a variety of local special schools, respite and disability support organisations. Annual visitor numbers are in the region of 17,000.
