About us
Who we are
The Welland Trust focus their efforts on the sponsorship and support of projects and initiatives that benefit adults who have experienced care. We are particularly keen to support the creation of opportunities to help reduce homelessness, reduce re-offending and support that will enhance the physical and mental well being of adults who've been in care. We also have a passion for projects that support opportunities for training, employment and further education for care leavers in particular those who are older (post 25) where there is no statutory support available.
Our culture and values
To achieve this we are ambitious in our targets which means being accountable for deploying our resources as effectively and sustainably as possible, to collaborate wherever we are able and to make leaps forward in care experience policy.
- Accountability – We take responsibility for deploying our resources as efficiently as possible, we will collect and analyse data to identify areas of highest need and measure effectiveness.
- Ambition – We seek to evolve and align our services to the needs of our users or partner organisations. We set ourselves demanding targets, we are always looking to improve how we work and the impact we have.
- Collaboration – We appreciate that by working together with other organisations we can achieve more than on our own. If another charity is making a difference we will support them, not compete with them.
- Sustainability – The vision we have cannot be achieved overnight, therefore we need to ensure our resources are carefully invested and managed, so our work can continue for future generations.
- Thought Leadership – We strive to be experts in our field, fully understand the issues faced by care experienced people, so that we can campaign for effective policies on a national level.
