About us
Who we are
The Prudence Trust is a grant-making foundation, founded in 2020, which focuses on improving the mental health of young people in the UK. We make grants to charities and research institutions who work to prevent and act early in mental health struggles. Our focus is on 11-25 year olds and on anxiety and depression. We make about £8m of grants a year.
Our culture and values
The Prudence Trust is
• Open – we are friendly and transparent and we like to keep things simple.
• Trusting – we are looking for partnerships with effective management who we can trust to deliver their plan, but we are flexible because we know that things change.
• Involved – we are inspired by seeing the impact of the work you are doing, learning from experts and those on the frontline. We are interested in helping organisations at pivotal moments to progress.
• Long-term – we want to build long-term partnership and know that change often takes a long-time to bring out. We want to support activities and organisations which are sustainable.
• Risk-taking – we are not limited by what others are doing or what has worked in the past. We are looking for innovative new approaches to society’s long-standing problems.
We seek to live these values in the areas we support and the ways in which we work.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in all the people who are involved - staff, trustees, advisors and partners. All employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit and business need. We have tried to develop the policies and practices in recruitment and retention to ensure the greatest diversity of people apply to and thrive at the Prudence Trust
We hope we have created the organisational culture in which everyone can share their perspectives and contribute freely. We listen and learn from others (including specialists, young people and those on the frontline) so that we make better decisions about our strategy and grants.
