Who we are

We are the Museum of the people and City of Cambridge. Nestled in a 17th-century pub we tell the extraordinary stories of the ordinary people of Cambridge. Founded in 1936, the Museum brings Cambridge history to life. 

Completely independent and fiercely in love with Cambridge. We are proud to be the independent social history Museum of Cambridge. Our collection of nearly 40,000 objects shares the stories of magic, family, and the working life of the city of Cambridge and the surrounding villages.
