About us
Who we are
The Lipman-Miliband Trust is a grant-making organisation, supporting socialist political education for transformative change in the areas of peace, human rights and democracy.
Founded in 1974, the Lipman-Miliband Trust has been a consistent presence among movements for human rights, peace and social justice, fostering socialist research and political education in spaces that contribute to transformative change. Over the past 50 years, the Trust’s grants have supported some of the most influential socialist educational projects, Novara Media, Red Pepper and The World Transformed as well as countless other projects, spanning areas of work including trade union organising, international solidarity, organising against the arms trade, land rights, women’s rights and much more.
Our culture and values
The Trust is committed to nurturing political education in a range of forms, within and across movements for peace, human rights and democracy. It is a largely volunteer-run organisation, run by the trustees with support from a paid Co-ordinator working 2.5 days per week. We work remotely using email and Zoom but meet in person twice a year.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
The Trust is seeking to increase the diversity of its Trustees.
