The KEYS Project

Who we are

Established in 2013, by Dr. Steve Smith, The KEYS Project is a church based detox programme whereby small church teams of volunteers are trained as ‘Detox Coaches’, helping people escape from alcohol and drug addiction through integrated medical, spiritual and community support.

Dr. Smith is a GP Specialist in substance misuse and acts as KEYS Medical as well as its Project Director. He developed the charity’s vision whilst working as an addiction specialist in drug clinics. We have three part time staff and our work is largely volunteer led in eleven Church centres across the UK, working with Church partners
