About us
Who we are
Every day, around the world the members and volunteers of the Order of Malta are working with some of the world's most vulnerable people. The homeless, the elderly, marginalised and displaced communities, prisoners and children and adults with disabilities; those whom even in a modern world where the spotlight of attention seems to shine everywhere, are struggling beneath the surface.
The Global Fund for Forgotten People was established in 2012 to raise funds for and awareness of this inspiring international effort. We help build capacity and expand the impact and reach of the Order throughout the world, enabling the Order of Malta to continue its 900 year old tradition of providing care and relief for the world’s Forgotten, wherever suffering is present.
During its first five years of operation the Fund has: received committed donations of over $17m and given over 400 grants to entities of the Order in over 70 countries in support of local projects assisting the forgotten.
