About us
Who we are
The Foundry Sheffield is a registered charity (CIO) which took over the management of the historic City Centre Victoria Hall Methodist Church in the heart of Sheffield in 2015. Alongside the Victoria Hall, we currently support an additional 4 buildings accross Sheffield, with the ulitmate aim of improving the lives of those people who are marginalised.
The Foundry Sheffield has core values which all staff are required to promote and maintain. These are:
- To provide a safe space with good, accessible facilities.
- To demonstrate a bias for the poor, disadvantaged and those who feel marginalised.
- To model positive and respectful relationships with our partners, leaseholders, licensees, stakeholders, and clients.
- To provide a high standard of hospitality and welcome
The objects of the charity are to promote the benefits of the inhabitants of the City of Sheffield and elsewhere, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, age, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to relieve poverty and advance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation, and to relieve unemployment, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
The promotion of the voluntary sector for the public benefit by providing low cost accommodation and facilities in central Sheffield for voluntary sector organisations.
Within each of our venues, we hire out spaces and faclities, primarily for chartiable uses. We also hire out spaces for events and conferencing to ensure we are generating income to reinvest back into the buildings.
