About us

Who we are

The Dyslexia Association is a registered charity (charity number 1082345), which was established in 1971.

We provide support and services for dyslexic children and adults of all ages, their parents/families, educators, employers, and the wider community. Our head office is in Nottingham but this does not restrict the areas we support.

Enriching the lives of people who have dyslexia is at the heart of our charity.  We enable dyslexic children and adults of all ages and backgrounds and help them to live happy, productive lives and reach their full potential.

Our team of dedicated, caring individuals provides professional advice, screening, assessment, training, and tuition as appropriate because we know one size does not fit all.  Each person is different and knowing this is what makes the difference.  We help you understand your strengths and find the solutions to whatever challenges you may face.

If you are dyslexic, or think you might be dyslexic, or if you are concerned about another person, we can help.

We receive no government funding.  We rely entirely on the support of fundraisers and generating income through the sale of our services, to fund our free Helpline and advice services.

The Dyslexia Association is a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales no. 3941946 and a registered charity no. 1082345.
