About us
Who we are
The Brunswick Centre is a Charity (no. 1015450) and company (no. 02764525) and our mission is simple:
We exist to enable people from the communities we serve to live positive lives free of stigma.
The Brunswick Centre was incorporated as a charity in 1992, originally working solely with people living with or affected by HIV. We are passionate about coproduction and many of our board, colleagues and volunteers have lived experience of the issues we exist to support.
We’re a close-knit team and emphasise the importance of looking after ourselves and each other. To start working for the Brunswick Centre is to take your part in achieving our mission – we value input, celebrate innovation and work tirelessly to make sure everything we do is safe, effective and of the highest quality.
Whilst the response to HIV was what started the Brunswick Centre's charitable mission, knowledge and experience of HIV is not essential for anyone applying for a post at the Brunswick Centre. What is an absolute must is that applicants share and promote our values and principles in all they do.
We deliver services across Calderdale and Kirklees to:
- LGBTQ+ youth, families,
- anyone who needs emotional support who identifies as LGBTQ+
- people living with, affected by or at risk of contracting HIV
We are passionate and unstoppable campaigners too... we advocate with and on behalf of people we support.
