About us
Who we are
The British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) is the professional association for art therapists in the UK. We work to raise professional standards of art therapists and promote a better understanding of the benefits art therapy can bring in promoting wellbeing and good mental health across all communities. We promote art therapy to policy makers, opinion formers and the general public.
With over 2000 members, we provide a wide range of member support services, ranging from training events, national and international conferences, a peer reviewed journal "The International Journal of Art Therapy", a member magazine and fortnightly e-bulletins.
Full Members are qualified art therapists, regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Our members help transform the lives of adults and children in a range of settings, including the NHS, education, third sector and private practice.
