Our mission is to use Standup paddle boarding (SUP) activities to deliver education; developing knowledge, life skills and well-being. We believe that everyone should have the access to adventure activities as well as the right to education that improves lives. Standup paddling is a sport which is not gender, size, age, race, fitness or ability specific. Anyone can do it and it is a great way to exercise, talk, meet people and to explore. We have a particular employment focus for 16-25 year olds who are disadvantaged (and referred to us) as well as those who are homeless or have physical or learning disabilities.
Through community nights, membership and taster sessions, we will grow our SUP community. Beneficiaries can then join one of our five modules, all based around SUP and education. These modules are Environment, Health, Leadership, Well-being and Community. They vary in length, curriculum and location but the main purposes being promotion of education, SUP skill development and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Out target 16-25 year olds will also have access to our skill identification, volunteer and work-experience program which will help develop their CV and job prospects.
We are currently focusing on East London (Newham in particular) and looking for a set location to run the community nights and taster sessions but the adventure courses will be based out of London.
Our 5-year plan is to grow outside of London, using our paddle board community to help those from other inner-cities areas.
