Who we are

The Big Issue offers people facing poverty and exclusion the opportunity to earn their own money; a livelihood. The Big Issue Foundation is an independent charity supporting people experiencing exclusion, frequently including periods of homelessness. We offer vendors opportunities of a life. We work tirelessly alongside our vendors to help them deal with the issues that either brought them to us in the first instance or issues that have arisen as a result of the experiences they are having.

The Big Issue Foundation’s mission as a UK charity for people experiencing social and financial exclusion, is to connect vendors with the vital support and personal solutions that enable them to rebuild their lives; to determine their own pathways to a better future. Our vision is to end poverty and social exclusion. We do this by offering vulnerable people a holistic support package of work, support, and access to vital services. By empowering our beneficiaries to equip themselves with work and life skills, a home, healthcare, a reliable support network, and necessary every-day tools like a passport and bank account we get closer towards achieving our vision.
