Who we are
Art Works is a not-for-profit creative arts organisation that exists to support the development of artists with learning disabilities and/or autism. We are a collective of creatives that care about making a change to the artists we support, the disabilities arts movements and our local environment and community. We support our artists to contribute to society through artistic exploration, exhibitions, events, and volunteer placements.
We offer daily workshops and voluteer placements within the community. All of our work is focused around the creation of art in it's many forms to improve our local environment and share important messages with the community. We work in the following mediums art, textile, murals, film, photography, animation, sculpture, glass work, performance work basically we are limited by our imaginations. We are commissioned regularly to work all over Sheffield and other areas of the country as well as attending exhibitons and events.
We think that the exploration of creative practice goes had in hand with living a healthy happy life so do fun sessions and activites. We take the group to Butlins once a year and take part in regular swim and gym sessions, cooking and sessions designs to create a happy soul.
