About us
Who we are
Tennis for Free, an independent sports charity, operates fully inclusive mass participation community tennis sessions in public parks for all ages and all sections of the community nationwide.
We make the sport available to everyone, particularly those from less privileged areas who may not otherwise have the opportunity to engage with tennis, sport or their community. We encourage the community to volunteer at their Tennis for Free site, developing it into a scheme run “by the community, for the community” reinvigorating underutilised park facilities and building strong personal relations between participants and volunteers.
We generate funding to support equipment and coaches making sure everyone has the opportunity to join in, our games are mass participation based on making everyone’s experience one of fun regardless of age or ability. We work with local wellbeing centres particularly encouraging those struggling with mental health difficulties to integrate with their local community.
We build thriving sporting hubs in parks, safeguarding public sporting facilities for generations to come right across the United Kingdom, to date we have had over 125,000 people participate at our 88 sites and we aim to double this in the coming years
