About us
Who we are
In partnership with Kisima School in Kenya, TEFT works to provide a free residential secondary education to children from some of the toughest and most challenging communities in northern Kenya. Many of these communities face severe drought, conflict and lack of public services, meaning a secondary education is often out of reach and unaffordable to many of the children living there.
Since it opened in 2005, Kisima School has been an incredible success story – teaching, nurturing and encouraging 160 students each year, half boys and half girls. Many of these students have gone on to attend university and start careers that are now having a real impact across Kenya. Former students are involved in health, education, computer programming, engineering and sustainable energy projects – many have returned to support the communities they come from and are now helping family members and others to attend school.
The school, which has recently been ranked as the third best academic secondary school in Kenya, is supported entirely by donations. It plays an increasingly vital role in transforming the lives of people living in some of the toughest parts of Kenya by creating leaders who can bring positive change in their communities.
