About us
Who we are
We are one of the leading Syria-focused charities in the world. We provide lifesaving and life-changing support to millions of Syrians every year through emergency interventions, providing medical facilities, food, clean water, shelter, orphan support, protection and education.
Syria Relief was established in Manchester UK, at the start of the Syrian conflict in 2011. Dismayed at the rapidly unfolding crisis in Syria, a group of friends of Syrian heritage came together to provide emergency humanitarian aid in the region, for what was initially assumed a short-term project. Since then, we have grown to become the largest Syria-focused, UK-based Charity, and have touched the lives of 2.4 million Syrians in need.
Today we are working on the ground in some of the hardest to reach areas of Syria and its neighbouring countries. We have established field offices in Syria, Jordan, Iraq and Turkey. By working closely with our partners and offices on the ground, we are able to distribute aid in an effective, efficient and transparent way to ensure that we make a sustainable and meaningful difference to the communities we are supporting.
We are focused on providing medical care, food aid, education, protection and access to water and shelter to the millions of Syrian’s displaced across the region. To find out more about our wide range of projects and how you can help visit our projects page. As well as establishing long term projects such as schools, healthcare clinics and livelihood projects, we have responded to many emergencies including those in Idlib and Yemen.
Our Vision
Syria Relief envisions a future in which the people of Syria live in dignity and security, with the means and opportunities to fulfill their potential and achieve their aspirations, wherever they may be in the world.
Our Mission
Inspired by a deep sense of duty towards innocent civilians caught in the Syrian conflict, we set ourselves an ambitious mission: To relieve the suffering and support the future of the people of Syria.
