About us
Who we are
SARSVL is the dedicated Rape Crisis Centre for all women and girls in Leeds affected by rape and sexual violence.
We are a feminist organisation that supports all women and girls in Leeds who need us – we are trans inclusive – who have been affected by sexual violence of any kind at any time in their lives (that is important, nearly half the women we speak to are adult survivors of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA)). We promote their needs and rights and work towards the elimination of sexual violence.
Our culture and values
The following values and principles underpin all of our work and activities:
confidentiality, trust and belief, respect, feminism, empowerment, diversity of provision, responsiveness, women-only safe space, partnership working, inclusion, accessibility, empathy, woman-centred practice led by the women we support, non-judgemental
SARSVL is a member of Rape Crisis England & Wales the national charity and umbrella body for a network of independent member Rape Crisis Centres, and a member of the Helplines Partnership the membership body for organisations that provide helpline services in the UK and internationally.
