About us
Who we are
Student Hubs works to catalyse student involvement in social action.
We design and deliver social action programmes for students in partnership with universities across the UK. Each year we support 2,500 students to take part in long-term volunteering, community action, impact consultancy, in-curriculum Service Learning and social action projects. We connect students to the community, partnering with hundreds of local charities and social enterprises.
Our vision is of a society in which every student engages with social and environmental challenges during their time at university. Our mission is to make social action a mainstream student activity and create a new generation of socially-active citizens for life.
We work through a double benefit model. Communities benefit from the perspective, expertise and extra capacity students bring. Students benefit from a richer experience at university, the opportunity to develop key skills, enhanced graduate employability, and improved wellbeing and sense of belonging.
We were founded in 2007 and have hubs in Bristol, Cambridge, London (Kingston), Southampton and Winchester.
