I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting and working with other volunteers and staff members. To volunteer in an environment where each individual values the importance of aiding the public and improving current standards, is very special and unique. The sense of accomplishment and pride which is felt when you have helped an individual improve their situation is incredibly rewarding. I am very proud to say I volunteer with the Citizens Advice and would urge others to do so. Not only are you giving back to the local community but you are investing within yourself in terms of gaining new skills, expanding your knowledge and building lasting friendships.

Citizen Advice is the first and ideal place for me to build my confidence, my communication and get involved in helping and supporting my community. The team work environment is friendly, comfortable and supportive. It encouraged me to lead a frontline client service, as well as helped me to find placement opportunity in my area of study with expectation to turn to paid employment soon.

Volunteering has taken me out of my comfort zone, enlarged my social circle, developed my listening skills, given me a wider perspective on life, as well as engaging my sympathies and encouraging a greater compassion for other people.

I like volunteering for Citizens Advice Stevenage because the volunteers and staff who work there are by far the best group of people that I have ever volunteered with: they work with great humour, commitment and professionalism.
