About us
Who we are
As the nation's leading first aid charity, we want to teach everyone simple, life saving skills.
Our Vision: Everyone who needs it should receive first aid from those around them. No one should suffer for the lack of trained first aiders.
Every year, more than 400,000 people learn how to save a life through our training programmes, including hundreds of thousands of young people.
Our volunteers provide first aid in their communities, keeping people safe at events, and working alongside the NHS in response to 999 calls. We’re also always campaigning to raise awareness of first aid and directly educate the public.
What We Do: There are so many roles available, from Event First Aiders, Community Advocates and Ambulance Operations to name but a few.
New Opportunity: St John Ambulance have an exciting new programme to provide communities with the skills they need to be confident in taking life saving action when needed.
First Aid Community Advocates will raise awareness of the importance of learning first aid and increase access to first aid information throughout local community groups and events.
We provide full training and support, so you do not need knowledge and experience before volunteering, just a passion to make a positive impact with your community!
You’ll do this by handing out information to the public or giving talks and demonstrations at community centres, local events and groups. Your role as a First Aid Community Advocate can be flexible to suit your lifestyle and you can shape the action you take in your local community.
