About us
Who we are
Volunteering Matters has been leading UK volunteering in policy and practice for over 55 years. We develop and deliver effective volunteer-led solutions to some of the most significant challenges facing individuals and their communities today. We know, through years of successful work, that investing in people through the power of volunteering makes a tangible difference; improving health and wellbeing, building stronger more cohesive communities and achieving lasting results.
Our vision is of a society where everyone can participate in their local community through volunteering and social action.
Our mission is to invest in people through volunteering to reduce inequalities and isolation, improve health and well-being and so build a stronger more inclusive society.
Sporting Chance Rhondda Cynon Taf aims to engage men aged 50+, living in the RCT area, in social and activity groups. Taking part in Sporting Chance gives participants an opportunity to meet other people and enjoy a host of fun activities. It’s for men, over 50 who may be at a loose end, or bored, or facing major life changing challenges like bereavement or retirement. Our Sporting Chance projects help men to actively take part in their community and lower the risks of suffering from issues such as loneliness, depression and poor health.
