Who we are

Spark is the new name for our organisation, following the merger of the Voluntary Sector Support Service of SSVCA and Mendip Community Support in April 2016.

Together, we have been providing practical support to the voluntary sector in Somerset for many years. Our aim is to inspire strong and sustainable communities through voluntary and community action. We provide information, advice, training and support to charities and community groups in South Somerset, Mendip and Sedgemoor and we represent the sector on strategic bodies, both at a District and County level. We also run the Volunteer Service across these three districts, inspiring people to get involved and make a difference in their communities.

It's an exciting time to join our team, as we develop the range of support that we offer, including a new training programme, our Community Partnerships Project, place-based Volunteering and Community Accountancy service.
