About us
Who we are
Space2 is a Leeds-based charity and arts and social change organisation seeking to place arts at the heart of communities to promote community development and sustainable futures.
The following key objectives have been identified to support the organisation and its communities to fulfil our new ambitions over the coming five years:
- To develop a Slow Arts Manifesto promoting interdependence and co-production with staff, volunteers, artists and communities
- To search out the silences, supporting diverse and under-represented groups to have a platform and influence locally, regionally, nationally and globally
- To embed arts at the heart of the Old Fire Station as part of everyday life in East Leeds
- To support the global movement for social justice in the face of climate breakdown through creative approaches, international conversation, pathfinding and expression of alternative narratives for how communities might be and act in the future
- To co-produce a programme of accessible, relevant and inspirational arts with and for children and young people
This will be underpinned by resourcing which seeks to respond to the challenging funding environment and urgent environmental, sustainability and social change imperatives of our time:
- To be a sustainable organisation, developing and modelling sustainable, collaborative, compassionate practice
