Who we are

Solihull Care Housing Association is a local (not for profit) social housing landlord providing good quality housing accommodation and related services for people with a range of special needs including elderly people, people who have learning disabilities and people with mental health needs.

Our Mission is to make a real difference to people’s lives and we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults within the communities we work in.

Our Values

Our vision is underpinned by our values, with services being :-

  • People centred – Treating each person we seek to help with dignity and respect
  • Empowering – Enriching people’s lives by providing choice, opportunity and enabling them to make informed decisions about their own future
  • Innovative – Open to new ideas and embracing new approaches that build on past experiences without being limited by them
  • Integrity – Ensuring honesty, openness and good business ethics in all that we do
  • Learning & Developing – Learning from our experiences and developing colleagues to support them in the jobs they do

Our culture and values

We believe we really do make a difference to our residents’ lives.  Not only do we provide safe, comfortable and welcoming homes for people, we work together, living our values and acting as the link between residents, family and friends to enhance residents’ quality of life.  We achieve this by creating a vibrant environment for our residents, based on person-centred service delivery to promote independence, choice and wellbeing.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

Solihull Care Housing Association (SCHA) is committed to promoting equality, diversity and acting in an inclusive way in its approach to allocating housing, the provision of services, the recruitment and employment of staff and when working with consultants, contractors and suppliers.

We recognise that people with different backgrounds, skills, attitudes and experiences can bring fresh ideas and perceptions that will benefit the Association and its customers.  We know that we can achieve our aims and narrow the gap of inequality by working closely with our partners and the community and voluntary sector who work with diverse or vulnerable communities.

At SCHA, we seek to ensure there is a consistent approach in promoting equality, diversity and inclusion across all areas of our activities.  We will listen to and engage with local people at every opportunity and our plans are informed by our customers’ and colleagues’ experiences of living and working in the borough of Solihull.
