Who we are
Solent Protection society as a charity was established in 1956, with a role in protecting the ecological and environmental well-being and wise management, of the wider Solent Area in the South of England, including harbours, rivers, foreshores and the surrounding land.
Our culture and values
Solent Protection strive to safeguard the wider Solent region from pollutants, the visual environment, and safeguarding the Solent Area for public use, including sailing, swimming, air quality and to protect the environement from over and inappropiate developement, whilst maintaining a vibrant economy. There are many pressures for the Society to deal with including CO2 pollution, loss of habitat, sewage and toxic pollutants, reduction in aquatic life balance, loss of seagrass and oyster beds, flooding and sea defences and not to mention the effects of global warming.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Solent Protection Society liase with local and national companies, local MPs, Local Authorities together with other local societies to miantain effective conrol of the environment.
