About us
Who we are
Samaritans of Edinburgh and the Lothians is part of a national charity dedicated to reducing feelings of isolation and disconnection that can lead to suicide. Opening our doors on 1st June 1959, Edinburgh & the Lothians Samaritans is currently celebrating 60 years of listening. We were the 2nd branch of Samaritans to open in the UK and the first to open in Scotland. Our volunteers pride themselves in being there for people when they need a safe place to talk.
