About us
Who we are
Ryedale Folk Museum is Yorkshire's leading open-air museum. With a six-acre site set in the heart of the North York Moors, we have twenty historic buildings, through which visitors can explore the history and daily lives of North Yorkshire people from the Iron Age to the 20th Century.
Our vision is to build and share the museum's collection to encourage an appreciation of our area's sense of place and the stories of its people.
Our purpose is to provide learning opportunities and enjoyable experiences through the presentation of our collections for visitors and our local community.
