Royal Engineer soldiers are called Sappers. They are multi-skilled soldiers, combat engineers and tradespeople and provide essential support to all areas of Defence in peacetime and on operations. It can trace its anticedants back to Bishop Gundulf, the King's Engineer to William of Normandy.
The Royal Engineers Central Charitable Trust (RECCT) is funded by donations from serving and former members of the Corps. This fund works to support Sappers throughout their careers and beyond.
The Royal Engineers Association - support and long-term cameraderie for both serving and former members of the Corps.
The Institution of Royal Engineers - discussing the art and science of military engineering and providing professional engineering registration.
RECPD - the Royal Engineers education and training trust - solely for serving members of the Corps (regular and reserve).
