Who we are

Reading International Solidarity Centre (RISC) is one of Britain’s leading Development Education Centres close to the heart of Reading's town centre. We work with schools and community groups to raise the profile of global issues and promote action for sustainability, human rights and social justice. We are a registered charity run by a Collective (a flattened hierarchy, of 12 paid management staff) responsible to a Board of Trustees RISC’s education team is the core specialist provider of Global Citizenship education services in Berkshire and Oxfordshire, for teachers and trainee teachers. Global Citizenship means taking action for social justice and sustainability, locally and globally. It aims to promote understanding of the links between individuals and communities and the wider world around them.
