Welcome to RHD!
RESOURCE HUB FOR DEVELOPMENT (RHD) is a registered national, non-profit, humanitarian and development Organization working with rural communities in Kenya. RHD has been operational in Kenya since 2010. The organization work focuses on Health care, Water and Sanitation (WaSH), Education, Agriculture, Environmental Management and Energy conservation, Housing and Homelessness, Humanitarian Relief, Youth and Women Economic Empowerment, Social and Cultural Programs- Peace building, and Volunteerism.
Mission
RHD mission is to alleviate poverty and empower poor marginalized rural and slum communities through socio-economic programs and humanitarian aid. We stand to change the lives of individual and families in the poorest communities in Kenya by promoting initiatives and sustainable development solutions which advocates facilitating lasting change, strengthening development capacity for self help, providing economic, social opportunities and relief to the poor
Vision
RHD has a vision of a just society where the dignity, self esteem and self determination of every citizen are guaranteed for integral human development. Towards this, RHD has a mission to work for empowerment and transformation of poor marginalized communities through capacity development in order to realize equitable, innovative and sustainable development geared towards poverty alleviation.
This is aimed to exploit the natural and human resources available in the region whist sustaining and improving the environment for the benefit of the inhabitants. The organization has worked tirelessly to bring together the local communities with their expertise and experience and the development agencies with their resource to confront ignorance, diseases, poor livestock husbandry, environmental degradation and the resultant poverty and backwardness.
RHD forms the basis for networking with other individuals, teams, agencies, volunteer mission teams/ groups, institutions and development organization both at the Local and international levels to create a pool of resources and a forum for discussion; exchange ideas on problems affecting the marginalized, poor rural communities in Kenya. While also Integrate the existing projects for improvement on proper health care, education and the living standards towards self-employment opportunities and initiate food self-sufficiency strategies and funding.
