Who we are

Read Easy Bristol is affiliated to Read Easy UK. We help adults who struggle to read.

People may struggle to read for various reasons, but many have had bad experiences at school and lack confidence in group settings. We provide flexible, friendly, one-to-one support for any adult who wants help with their reading. We see readers in suitable venues, such as public libraries or communuty centres near their homes. Reading coaches have a training day, use approved text books ('Turning Pages') and can access support and advice from their coordinators and literacy specialists in our management team. 

We have an active  team who are enthusiastic, supportive and who welcome new ideas and diversity. We arrange training for reading coaches and team members including our coordinators. At present we have 4 coordinators, some part time, and a management team of 8. Our support evenings for reading coaches, are well attended by members of the team and much enjoyed. We also take part in some publicity events.   

We are expanding from South Bristol across Bristol and recruiting more members and coordinators, in order to reach as help as many readers  as we can. Check out the web site of 'Read Easy UK - helping adults to read' for more information.
