Who we are

We are medical researchers, surgeons, fundraisers and support staff working together as a team under one roof, but with a global perspective. We are academic collaborators, donors, patient groups and volunteers who believe in the work of RAFT. Around the world, the lives of hundreds of thousands of people are affected by skin disfiguring illnesses and damage such as burns, cancer, wounds and limb amputations. RAFT is here to help them. Amazing developments have been happening at RAFT for the last 28 years including: - New treatments to encourage the fast healing of wounds - Anti-scarring agents for burn patients - Laser hair removal for skin grafts - Research which led to hospital alternating air pressure mattresses to prevent bed sores - Advanced treatment for Dupuytren’s Contracture, facial palsy & damaged tendons - Research for skin cancer into new areas leading to major changes how we are protected against harmful UVA rays - Neo-natal methods of treating cleft lip & palate disorders.
