About us
Who we are
The RSPCA as a charity will, by all lawful means, prevent cruelty, promote kindness to and alleviate suffering of all animals. We were the first to introduce a law to protect animals and we work hard to ensure that all animals can live a life free from pain and suffering.
Each year around 74,000 animals are re-homed through the RSPCA's 177 branches, 3,500 directly through inspectors and 15,000 via headquarter s establishments. In an effort to reduce the number of animals reproducing, popular pets, such as cats, dogs and rabbits, are neutered - Cats and dogs are also micro-chipped and vaccinated - before they are re-homed.
