About us
Who we are
Q:alliance has been working for the LGBTQ+ community in Milton Keynes since 1998 – and longer!
Q:alliance (sometimes simply referred to as ‘Q’) was formed by a merger between two groundbreaking local LGBTQ+ projects.
· Lesbian and Gay Link was the very first lesbian and gay helpline in the UK, established in 1975.
· Youthline was an award-winning charity supporting LGBTQ+ young people in Milton Keynes since 1985.
Our culture and values
By living these 5 values and tying them into everything we do, we’ll be able to ensure our success in serving our LGBTQ+ community: Innovate, Support, Inform, Empower and Collaborate.
Q:alliance exists to enable self-identified members of the LGBTQ+ community to be supported, informed, and empowered to live safe, authentic lives in and around Milton Keynes. Q is a resource for the entire LGBTQIA+ community and most members will be people who live, work, or socialise in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas, and who require information or support about LGBTQ+ issues
We are governed by a Board of Trustees who are elected by our community, and managed by a dedicated team of staff who ensure the charity understands and meets the needs of our community.
