Who we are

The PMSA is a national charity committed to promoting and preserving public sculpture.  It does this by  recording all public sculpture, undertaking art history research and making its information available via its web databse and via publications in the Public Sculptutre of Britain series of books. It produces 3 times a year an internationally renowned Journal and holds an annual conference or symposium as well as a sculpture award. A regular on line newsletter 3rd Dimension reflects everything that is happening in the world of public sculpture. 

We aim to become the organisation to go to for advice and knowledge on our public sculptures and our new three year programme will see us achieve that goal.

there is a small team of employed people but a large network of volunteers  who contribute to our work. We are a partner with Art UK in a £3.8m Heritage Lottery supported project to update and finalise the recording of all sculptures.The next three years will be an exciting and dynamic time fro the work of this charity.
