About us
Who we are
Description
PHOEBE aims to engage in case work with domestic violence victims intending to provide advice, support and advocacy for, primarily, black and ethnic minority women who have experienced domestic violence. Women often self refer to the service, but are also referred to seek support from the organisation and although it targets immigrant, refugee and asylum-seeking communities because of the unique situation and vulnerabilities of those facing domestic violence, British white women and men also seek support regarding domestic violence cases. We seek to promote greater inclusivity, encourage a greater number of black and ethnic minority women and children to receive domestic violence support and counseling services across Suffolk and in Zimbabwe
Our goals
- Our vision is of a society where women and girls can live their lives free from violence and the threat of violence.
- We want women in Ipswich to have access to support services that will end the violence and support them in rebuilding their lives
- Zimbabwe
- Our work in Zimbabwe focuses on supporting vulnerable women recovering from mental health difficulties
