OASIS OF PEACE UK

Who we are

Oasis of Peace UK works to progress peace and to encourage greater equality between Jews and Arab-Palestinians in Israel. We do this by raising funds for and awareness of our partner, the unique binational community of Neve Shalom-Wahat al-Salam (NSWaS). Here, Jews and Arab-Palestinians have made the decision to live together, side-by-side and in full peace and equality.

The community is well-established and is known throughout Israel as a highly successful shared society project and an example of what can be achieved by those who are committed to peace. Its binational Primary School teaches Jewish and Arab-Palestinian children together and in both Hebrew and Arabic. It is recognised by governments and experts as an outstanding school and its model is now being used by other schools in Israel. Another educational centre in the community, the School for Peace, teaches dialogue and conflict-resolution programmes. This, too, is internationally recognised and has trained over 60,000 graduates, many of whom have taken its lessons with them into careers at the highest levels of civil society.

Oasis of Peace UK is NSWaS's voice in the UK. We raise money to help fund the educational institutions and we raise awareness of its work and mission.
